When do you need new light switches?
A light switch can show signs of trouble even before it starts working. You should call us for emergency switch repair if you experience any of the following:
- Sounds coming from your light switch. These may sound like a little like you’ve put your ear close to a bowl of Rice Krispies, or it may sound like a buzzing noise. Neither is normal.
- Your switch plate feels hot. This means there’s something serious going on with your wiring, and a fire could start any minute.
- There’s a delay between flipping the switch and seeing the lights come on. That’s a sign your electrical contacts have gone bad. This isn’t as dangerous as the first two, but it’s still worth paying attention to.
- There are scorch marks or strange colors on your switch.
- Your switch has gotten loose.
Take switch problems seriously. They may seem small and insignificant, but they can be a sign of a much bigger and more dangerous issue.
