Ring Floodlight Installation
The Ring Floodlight takes the concept of the motion-activated safety floodlight to the next level. It combines motion lights with a Ring video camera, which integrates with your smartphone. You can also integrate it with any Amazon Alexa device.
If you’ve ever lied awake at night, frozen as you strain your ears to hear that weird sound you heard a moment ago, Ring Floodlight is the security option for you. You will always know what’s happening outside your front door.
How does Ring Floodlight work?
When the motion detector is tripped, several things happen at once.
First, you get an alert sent straight to your phone, with real-time video showing who is on your property. If your Alexa has a video screen, you can view the video there as well.
Next, you’ll have the power to activate the two-way talk feature if you need or want to communicate with the person the camera sees. Or you can activate an exterior siren to scare the intruder off (you can do it by pressing a button on your smartphone).
Finally, the video gets captured and saved for later reference. You’ll be able to use it as evidence in the event you need or want to get law enforcement involved.
Where should you install your Ring Floodlight?
If you have just one Ring Floodlight you should consider aiming it at the back of your property. The front of a property usually has lighting and faces the street. The front can also be outfitted with a Ring Video Doorbell, which will serve the same purpose, without making your home look like a fortress to the casual visitor.
If you want full coverage, don’t neglect the sides of your property. Even if there are no entry points in those spaces, installing motion lighting there will help you eliminate spots where a prowler could hide or lie in wait. It may even ensure nobody ever gets close enough to your rear entrances to pose any threat.
Why get your Ring Floodlight installed professionally?
The Ring Floodlight must be hardwired to a weatherproof electrical box. Not only is hardwiring anything a job best left to licensed and experienced electricians, but also you may also need us to install the electrical box to get the cameras in the proper position. That, too, is no DIY weekend job.
A proper Ring installation means you can enjoy this security feature the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.
